Aerodynamics are key
In a triathlon, efficiency is key. The less air resistance there is, the less power you need to maintain the same speed. That’s why triathlon bikes are designed entirely with aerodynamic performance in mind. The streamlined frames are designed to allow air to flow as smoothly as possible around the bike. Triathlon handlebars for an efficient riding position
A key feature of a triathlon bike is the special triathlon or time trial handlebars. Thanks to the aerobars, your forearms rest on the supports, allowing you to adopt a compact and aerodynamic position. These are also known as aero handlebars. The CUBE Aerium already has aerobars integrated into the frame, but other CUBE road bikes do not. However, you can fit the aerobars as add-on handlebars on your road bike. Cycling with aerobars fitted to the handlebars significantly reduces air resistance compared to a traditional road bike. Furthermore, this position allows you to generate power efficiently, whilst conserving as much energy in your legs as possible for the final running stage of the triathlon.
