HOW DO YOU INSTALL THE BOSCH PERFORMANCE UPGRADE?
Do you ride a CUBE e-bike with a Bosch Performance Line CX motor (BDU384Y)? Then we have good news! With the latest Performance Line Upgrade, you'll get even more out of your bike. You can easily perform upgrades yourself via the eBike Flow app, right from your smartphone. This blog post explains step-by-step how it works and what you can expect from this smart upgrade.
Why software updates are important
Anyone who wants to get the most out of their e-bike should regularly update the software. New features, improved riding modes, better connectivity, and the latest maps are all made available through updates. Thanks to Bosch's continuous development, you'll benefit from consistently improved performance without having to buy a new bike.
What is the Bosch Performance Upgrade?
The Bosch Performance Upgrade is a software update for e-bikes with the Performance Line CX motor (BDU384Y). This allows you to customize your motor's settings, making your bike even more powerful and responsive. All without any physical adjustments or a visit to a store.
The upgrade is suitable for:
- CUBE e-bikes with Bosch Performance Line CX motor (model year 2024 and later)
- Engine code BDU384Y only
- Cycling with the Bosch Smart System via the eBike Flow App
What will the upgrade bring you?
After installing the Performance Upgrade via the eBike Flow App, you'll gain access to higher performance values:
- Torque up to 100 Nm: Ideal for steep climbs, technical trails, and heavy loads. Hub gear bikes get 90 Nm.
- Peak power up to 750 W: More power means faster acceleration and better performance on challenging sections.
- Motor support up to 400%: Your own pedaling power is quadrupled, perfect for long climbs or tough rides.
- Adjustable riding modes: In the Flow app, you can adjust the pedal assistance, dynamics, and maximum speed for each riding mode. Customize your e-bike to perfectly match your riding style.
How do you install the upgrade?
To perform the upgrade yourself, follow these simple steps:
- Open the eBike Flow App on your smartphone (make sure you have the latest version).
- Connect your CUBE e-bike to the app via Bluetooth.
- Go to Settings > My eBike > Updates .
- When the Performance Upgrade is available, you will receive a notification on the screen.
- Follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update.
The update only takes a few minutes and requires no store visits or tools. Please ensure your e-bike has sufficient battery life (at least 30%) during installation.
