THIS IS HOW YOU CAN KEEP CYCLING EVEN IN BAD WEATHER
CYCLING AGAINST THE STORM!
Of course, we prefer to cycle when the weather is nice. A beautiful spring day, a warm summer evening, that's great fun! But what about in the winter? This winter is not particularly cold, but we have had quite a bit of rain. We give you tips to keep cycling!
GET YOUR BIKE WINTER-READY
If you want to continue cycling in bad weather, it is important to make sure your bike is ready.
Mudguards
A good touring or city bike fortunately comes with good mudguards. But do you prefer the mountain bike, racing bike or gravel bike? Then it is a good idea to mount mudguards on it in the winter. These keep splashing water at bay to a large extent, so that you arrive at your destination a lot less wet and dirty. This keeps your clothes drier and you do not have to worry about splashing mud in your face.
Did you know that Acid mudguards fit most CUBE bikes? Only the CUBE Agree, CUBE Attain and CUBE Litening are exceptions.
Relief
Even if you cycle during the day, we recommend that you also cycle in bad weather good lighting to cycle. You are always less visible in the rain or fog, but a good lamp is the solution for this. Lighting is available in different strengths. The greater the number of lumens, the brighter the lamp can shine. A lamp with many lumens is, for example, perfect for rides through the polder, since it provides the next light to be able to see well yourself.

Good tires
Your tires are the only contact between you and the road. And in wet weather, the road surface, especially manhole covers, road markings and cobblestones, can be extra slippery! Before you go out in bad weather, check the condition of your tyres. If they are worn out, it is best to replace a set new tires mount. And are you riding a racing bike with smooth tires? A tire with a bit more profile will provide more grip on wet roads, a good option to consider!
Maintenance
Just cycled in the rain? Give your bike some love when you get home. Clean your chain with degreaser and use a brush to scrub the dirt off your cassette. Don't forget to oil your chain again afterwards! Use the Juice Lubes Scrub 'n Buff package, so you have everything together at once.
GOOD CLOTHING: LAYERS, LAYERS, LAYERS!
Protect yourself from the cold and wet with the proper cycling clothing . The trick is: layers, layers, layers. Make sure you have a good base with thermal pants and a shirt. These keep you extra warm and ensure that sweat is properly wicked away, so that you cool down less quickly.
Good pants
The time for shorts and shirts will come again, now it is important to get those warm and long cycling clothes out of the closet. Make sure you have lined cycling pants, that can also withstand a splash of water. The CUBE Blackline Bib Tights is the ideal training partner when it is colder. Is it really going to rain? Then you can put a good pair of rain pants over it, like the CUBE Blackline Rain Pants .
Warm jersey and jacket
Also make sure your upper body is well wrapped. A Jersey with long sleeves should not be missed. As a third layer you can use a lined cycling jacket, wind jacket or rain jacket use. These keep out the wind and rain well, so you stay warm and dry.

Gloves and overshoes
Don't forget your hands and feet. With a few good winter gloves Frozen fingers are a thing of the past and you always have good control over your bike! Do you suffer from wet shoes? Then use these handy overshoes made of neoprene.
Don't forget your buff or hat!
To protect your head well against water and wind, a helmet cap a good option. You use this under your helmet . And don't forget good buff around your neck. This ensures that the wind does not enter your jacket via your neck, but you can also conveniently pull it up to your chin, mouth or even nose!
