Here, Aerothan lasts twice as long as other materials: 47 Newtons are required to pierce the Aerothan tube – more than twice as much as with other materials. Even in the snakebite test with a guillotine, Schwalbe’s new inner tube can withstand significantly greater drop heights than butyl, latex, or other plastic inner tubes. Its heat resistance is also excellent: it has been tested at temperatures over 150 °C at 78 km/h in a specially developed process.When it comes to weight, Aerothan scores with its low weight, from 41 grams for road bikes to 61 grams for allround riders to 81 grams for MTB.
