Electric transport trike
A trike transport bike is robust and is characterized by a spacious luggage compartment on the back of the bike. This luggage compartment lends itself to transporting goods with the transport bike, but also offers the possibility of child seats. These transport bikes are a good alternative for people who want to get rid of the car!
Electric cargo transport bike
The electric cargo transport bike also has a large luggage box, but with this transport bike the box is on the front of the bike (also called a cargo bike). This transport bike is also suitable for transporting goods or children.
Electric longtail transport bike
The electric longtail bike is an odd one out. This type of transport bike does not have a luggage compartment. However, we see it as a transport bike, because the extended luggage carrier provides many transport options.
Electric transport bike with front-wheel or mid-motor?
When it comes to electric cargo bikes, the choice between a front-wheel or mid-drive motor is an important consideration. The motor position of the powerful motor in most electric cargo bikes can be located in the front wheel or in the middle, near the bottom bracket. A front-wheel motor is known for its fast acceleration and the feeling of direct propulsion it offers. On the other hand, a mid-drive motor offers a more natural riding experience. Because this motor is located in the heart of the cargo bike, the power is released in a similar way to a traditional bicycle.
Gears of the electric cargo bikes
To optimize riding comfort, most electric cargo bikes are equipped with gears in addition to electric support. These models are often supplied with 7 gears, although some models are continuously variable or available with 3 or 8 gears.
