Small things can make a real difference. It's the reason why the Numove 200 Disc has child-specific brake levers – with a wide adjustment range – and 140mm disc rotors. Those two details ensure that the Tektro hydraulic disc brakes aren't just powerful, but can also be easily controlled by your child's smaller hands. There's an adjustable CUBE stem to make it easy to adjust the height and reach of the handlebars as your child grows. And grippy Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres on Newmen Performance 22 Light wheels are driven by easy-shifting 8-speed gears. Add it all up, and it makes for a safe, fun and versatile all-terrain bike for adventurous youngsters.Frame descriptionWe do like to sweat the details at CUBE, and that applies just as much to our kids' bikes as it does to our adult range. For the Numove 200 Disc we added a flat mount for the discs, and incorporated a kickstand mount for good measure. The lightweight aluminium frame has been meticulously designed to offer just the right blend of low weight, strength and durability to meet the needs of a young, keen rider. With a matching rigid fork and geometry that's designed for lively but safe handling, it's the ideal starting point for your junior cyclist.

Details matter, and never more so than for younger riders. That's why, to take just one example, the Numove 200 has narrower diameter handlebars and grips – to better match the size of kids' hands. Light, strong V-brakes are operated by levers that are also designed for shorter fingers, and a fully adjustable CUBE stem makes it easy to adapt both the height and reach of the handlebars for a better fit as your child grows. The 8-speed gears are easy to use and light, grippy tyres on strong, fast-rolling but lightweight wheels finish the package. It is, in every sense, a lightweight version of mum or dad's bike – and your child is going to absolutely love it.Frame descriptionIt might seem like it's the high-end race bikes that get all the attention, but that's not how we work at CUBE. The Numove 160 is the ideal introduction to the joys of pedal power – tough enough to stand up to enthusiastic use, but light enough to inspire. Sensibly proportioned, child-friendly components are designed to last the course and to suit a growing child's build and strength perfectly. The chain is safely enclosed out of harm's way, while light, easy-to-use V-brakes – with levers specially designed for small hands – give your aspiring rider the confidence they need to learn to control their speed safely. All that's missing is an adventurous spirit and a whole load of enthusiasm!Frame descriptionJust like with our adult bikes, the Numove 160 blends the fun of responsive handling with the safety of stable, predictable steering – and the reassurance of having passed through our rigorous in-house testing processes. The lightweight 6061 aluminium frame features rounded edges and corners to help minimise the risk of injury, but it's also more than tough enough to stand up to enthusiastic use. And a choice of paint finishes means there's a Numove 160 that'll capture every child's imagination.
Learning to ride a bike is a rite of passage for all of us, and a light bike just makes the process a little easier. The Numove 140's specially designed frame and fork is built with low weight in mind, and matched with components – like the CUBE stem and German-made Thun bottom bracket – that are also light and durable. Light wheels are shod with narrow tyres, and we fitted V-brakes front and rear – with levers, handlebars and grips matched to small hands – for their simplicity and ease of use. We haven't forgotten safety, of course, which is why edges are all rounded and the chain is entirely enclosed. And, although it's light, it's also built to be child-tough, so it'll easily stand up to some spirited play as your child's confidence grows.Frame descriptionYour aspiring young rider deserves a bike that's every bit as well designed and made as mum and dad's. That's why the Numove 140's slimline frame is designed from the ground up to be as light as it possibly can be, without sacrificing the strength that any child's bike needs to shrug off the rough and tumble of play and the occasional mishap. With a matching alloy rigid fork and proportions and geometry to flatter a youngster's growing confidence, it's the starter bike you probably wish was available when you were a kid.
Safe, versatile, and most of all, incredibly fun to ride – these are the defining features of the Numove 200 Street. Its lightweight frame is based on the standard Numove 200 but comes with extra accessories that make it perfect for city use. Think smooth-rolling tires, a luggage rack, fenders, a sturdy kickstand, and an adjustable stem to let the bike grow with the child. A reliable 8-speed Shimano drivetrain and V-brakes with smaller brake levers complete the package. The only thing missing is a rider. Any volunteers?
Does the Numove 180 look like an ATB, an all-terrain bike? That’s because it is! This bike is perfectly proportioned and fully tailored to young adventurers. The powerful V-brakes feature smaller brake levers that are just right for children’s hands. The robust Schwalbe tires provide extra grip, comfort, and puncture resistance. We’ve kept things simple by leaving out gears – one is all you need. And thanks to the chain guard, pants and legs stay clean, saving mom and dad some work!
Learning to ride a bike is part of growing up, and a lightweight bike makes the learning process a bit easier. That’s why achieving the lowest possible weight was a key focus in developing the Numove 160. But not at the expense of strength, as a kids' bike must withstand some rough handling. The components were also selected for their low weight and high durability. The bike features practical V-brakes at the front and rear, with smaller brake levers and thinner grips, specifically designed for smaller hands. Safety wasn’t overlooked either: all edges are rounded, and the chain is neatly enclosed in a chain guard.

Tips for buying a children's bike or toddler bike
When buying a children's bike , make sure you buy a bike that is the right size. Your child should be able to get on and off without any problems in order to easily go out.
A child's bike that is too big can lead to dangerous situations. Your child will not be able to get off or brake easily, because their feet cannot reach the ground. So pay close attention to this when buying a child's bike. Let your child get used to learning to ride a bike without training wheels at their own pace, by building up from a balance bike to a real bike!
What size children's bicycle does my child need?
Children grow fast. That's why it's important to buy the right size bike for kids or bike for toddlers. Use the tool on the bike page to determine the bike size for your child.
Children's bicycle size - look at the clothing size
The age of your child does not always give a good picture, because one child can be taller than another child of the same age. The height and clothing size of your child are in most cases decisive in choosing a certain children's bike.
Sizes of children's bicycles are indicated in inches; this is the wheel size. Think for example of 18 inch, 16 inch or 12 inch children's bicycles.
A safe children's bicycle for your child
Some children grow very quickly. That is why it is important to regularly check whether your child's bike is still properly adjusted. Make sure that the handlebars and saddle are set to the correct height. The legs should not be completely stretched while pedaling and your child should be able to put his or her foot on the ground without stepping off the saddle.
Saddle height and legroom on children's bicycles
For optimal cycling fun, it is essential that the saddle of the children's bike is at the right height. With balance bikes and also with the first bike with chain drive, children should be able to easily reach the ground with their feet. This helps them when they roll their first meters on two wheels. As soon as your child can roll confidently, the saddle can be placed a little higher. But not too high, the child should preferably be able to reach the ground with the balls of his feet. The free space between the crotch and the bar of the bike depends on the leg length of your child and the shape of the frame. The lower the bar (= top tube), the more space. We recommend at least 3 to 5 centimeters of play space between the top of the bar and the bottom of the crotch. Or in other words: the top tube should be 3 to 5 centimeters shorter than the inside leg length of your child.
Bending the knee on children's bicycles
The bending of the knees is determined by the height of the saddle. This means that a low saddle position - such as with balance and learning bikes where the feet must be able to easily reach the ground - requires a stronger bending of the knees. Children who already have a lot of self-confidence on the bike can better place the saddle higher, preferably so high that the leg is almost fully extended while pedaling. This allows more power to be exerted and reduces fatigue. If your child's knees almost touch the elbows when cycling upright, then it is time for a larger type of children's bike.
Position of the foot on a children's bicycle
As we have already indicated above, children who are learning to ride a bike should be able to reach the ground with their feet. However, once they are able to ride a bike, it is better if they only touch the ground with the balls of their feet. For an effective pedaling movement, the ball of the foot should also lie flat on the pedal of the child's bike.
CUBE Children's bicycle inch sizes
At CUBE you can find inch sizes 12, 16, 18, 20, 24 and 26. Some CUBE children's bicycles are indicated in sizes XXS, XS or S.
Children's bicycle according to wishes for every child
When your son or daughter starts cycling, a child's bike with training wheels can be a solution. With training wheels, you can determine how quickly your child learns to cycle. This is how it works: the higher you set the training wheels, the more balance your child has to maintain. If you notice that your child no longer needs training wheels, then the real work can begin.
