Bosch's lightweight SX drive unit and 400Wh battery save precious grammes but are still capable of serving up 60Nm of torque assistance, so that's a good start. Throw in the ultra-light C:68X carbon chassis, Race Face carbon cranks, Newmen Phase 30 wheels with Continental Magnotal 2.4in tyres, and things are looking even better. A Fox 36 Float SL Factory fork and Float Factory shock keep everything planted and stable, whilst a remote dropper post adds both confidence and speed to the mix. Last but by no means least, Shimano XTR Di2 1x12 gears with matching XTR hydraulic disc brakes ensure you can go – and slow – at exactly the right pace. Which is, of course, very fast indeed.
