We are particularly proud of this stem. After some 15 years of virtually zero innovation in stem design and fabrication, we have come up with a brand-new design using state-of-the-art production technology. It sets a new benchmark in stem design. The NEWMEN EVOLUTION SL 318.2 is the world's lightest 3D-forged oversize stem. 3D-forged stems appeared on the market in around 2001. Super lightweight models were quick to follow and for years they were the benchmark in terms of weight. With the advent of the 31.8 mm handlebar standard, and as stem design evolved to keep pace with frame design (round stems don't fit modern frames), weights shot back up. This changed with the NEWMEN EVOLUTION SL 318.2. It keeps the modern design, uniting clean, contemporary looks with light weight, while offering outstanding stiffness, stability and durability.
